On Saturday, August 11th, 2018, Zion will be hosting its 16th Annual Golf Classic.

We have outgrown last year’s location and this year’s golf tourney will be at Timber Lake’s Golf Course in Staunton, IL. We invite you to be part of this event by entering a team or being a hole sponsor. Sponsorship and team registration forms are now available to download.

The 2017 Golf Tournament was a blessing to our school. We were able to enhance middle school Math instruction by adding a 65" smart display to the 3rd floor Math room. This addition corresponded to our new Chromebook initiative in 7th and 8th grades. Adding Chromebooks allowed us to reallocate our iPad resources to the lower level classrooms and funds generated were used to facilitate that transition. In our gym, we added a virtual mixer to our sound system as well. New computer systems were added to two classrooms to work with SmartBoards.

This year our goals are even greater. Funds generated from the golf tournament will outfit the middle school with 30 more Chromebooks. We hope to equip four classrooms with new computers that will be used in conjunction with the preexisting interactive boards. Finally, we hope to raise enough to upgrade aging interactive devices in two classrooms.

During the event, golfers will be served a sack lunch followed later in the afternoon with a BBQ dinner as golfers come off the course. An awards ceremony will be held when all golfers are off the course. A skins game will be available along with mulligans and 50/50. We will have a shotgun start at 11:00 am.
